Corgi 96655 James Bond Aston Martin
This is outside the normal range of models that I deal with, being a 1990s China edition, but it is one of a few very faithful reproductions made by Corgi using the original design that I feel are worth collecting with the original 261 and 270 models. This is very similar indeed to the second 270 model, the one with tyre slashers and gold bumpers.
It has all the features of a 270 and comes in an original window box of the 1970s style too. The obvious difference, other than base text, is the'filled-in' type of wheel.
The features all work although the rear shield is sometimes difficult to press down, being a lot thinner metal than the original issue. In the box are an instruction envelope (although it doesn't have an instruction sheet inside, these being shown on the box now), two baddies and limited edition certificate. 29,000 were produced, apparently. There is also a separate instruction sheet but it is too big for the envelope - included anyway as a bonus. The baddies are dark blue.
